University of Genova and Ecole Centrale de Nantes are currently partners in DIONISO, Seismic Domotics Innovative Technologies for Home and System Safety (2016-2021), funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research. The project is a multidisciplinary effort dealing with the problem of providing technological support to medical and civil protection staff during the operational phase which follows an earthquake. The activity of University of Genova in DIONISO is focused on the development of Wearable sensors and other Robotics technologies to support first responders during search and rescue operations. The activity of Ecole Centrale de Nantes is focussed on teams of heterogeneous robots for map building and area monitoring, as well as on snake-like robots for debris inspection.
